Zynga is looking for a strong mobile game marketer with free-to-play experience, outstanding project management skills and a passion for launching new products and games to join our team! As the Senior Brand Strategy Manager, you will direct and collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling launch campaigns that generate excitement, drive installs and reputation for an exciting new franchise. The  position reports to the Lead Manager, Brand Strategy in our Go-To-Market division and will also work very closely with the game team product managers and functional marketing leads to lead exciting upcoming game launches. 

You’ll be responsible for identifying the game’s target market, developing the brand positioning and delivering the go-to-market plan for launch and initial post-launch content releases.

You’ll partner with Consumer Insights and the game teams to influence the product strategy and roadmap, ensuring the new games fit audience needs, are marketable and commercially viable.

The ideal candidate will have experience launching new games across mobile platforms and some experience working with high-profile IPs.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with game studios and functional marketing leads to develop and execute integrated marketing plans for new games from pre-production through worldwide launch, with budget responsibility for all brand campaigns
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with other marketing disciplines, including user acquisition/performance marketing, social, influencers, platform partnerships, media partnerships and more to develop and execute the overall go-to-market strategy for new game launches in the marketplace, both domestically and internationally
  • Analyze performance of all marketing programs to identify the best opportunities for optimization, and regularly iterate to improve performance
  • Identify value propositions and key messages that bond the right players to our games
  • Write creative briefs for internal or external agencies to ensure all teams produce outstanding creative which is consistent across all channels and resonates with consumers
  • Use consumer insights to calculate market sizing for the target player segments
  • Be a “marketing ambassador” between the central marketing teams and game teams
  • Ensure goals and incentives are aligned across all teams including game studio, platform partnerships, social strategy, media and brand partnerships, user acquisition, and more
  • Work closely with game teams to provide detailed marketing forecasts and management presentations on a daily, weekly and quarterly basis
  • Analyze player data to make recommendations and pivots to marketing strategy as needed
  • Manage budget for all brand marketing initiatives

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience in game marketing with a strong track record of success and results across multiple game products
  • Experience launching new gaming products, including developing positioning, creating a GTM strategy, and working cross functionally with marketing, game team, and other publishing operations in order to execute flawlessly and under tight deadlines
  • Experience designing (from scratch), launching and scaling marketing programs that span multiple countries. Experience with international marketing strategies
  • Understanding of free-to-play acquisition, retention and monetizing key product indicators
  • Strong influencing skills; effective cross-functional driver
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to be flexible on a day to day basis with task priority and ability to work across multiple time zones, including international ones
  • Ability to work on multiple game projects simultaneously
  • Experience working with licensed products and directly with licensing partners a plus

The pay range for this position in  California at the start of employment is expected to be between $100,000 and $140,000 per year. 

However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.   Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.  Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
